Items from MIOTTEL COLLECTION have been featured in exhibitions by THE BASS MUSEUM (Miami, Fla.); THE FRICK MUSEUM & THE OCEAN LINER MUSEUM (New York City); THE MARINERS' MUSEUM (Newport News, Virginia); THE SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM, Washington DC and Danville CA BLACKHAWK MUSEUM; THE SUNTORY MUSEUM, (Osaka, Japan); the MUSEE DE LA MARINE (Paris) and latest but not least, in a recent exhibit on the great pre-WWI German liners at THE HOBOKEN HISTORICAL MUSEUM, (New Jersey). The COLLECTION has also been featured in displays by LALIQUE (New York); CHRISTOFLE silver makers (New York & San Francisco) and in galleries of several major office buildings.
A number of items in the COLLECTION are also held in the permanent collections of THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK; THE NEW YORK METROPOLITAN MUSEUM in Manhattan & THE SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART.
Moving from the sublime to the almost ridiculous, some time back THE SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MUSEUM asked us to participate in a show called "ECCENTRIC COLLECTIONS" afterdue reflection we included a sampling of wild & wacky items from The COLLECTION's "BLUEBIRD" Section.
The COLLECTION has provided background material for several television productions and was featured in the A&E NETWORK 4-hour international television special, "FLOATING PALACES". The HGTV series "COLLECTIBLE TREASURES" presented and on occasion rebroadcasts an extensive tour of the COLLECTION's VINTAGE TRAVEL POSTERS. The travel posters were also the subject of a feature article in PORTHOLE MAGAZINE.
